Building Description and Energy Renovation
The DC MUZEN project is implemented in an existing, detached, 300 m² bungalow, originally constructed in 1970. The house was initially heated by a natural gas installation with an annual consumption of approximately 7,000 m³ of gas, reflecting the energy requirements of a typical Dutch home from that period.
As part of the DC MUZEN transformation, the home has been completely renovated and converted into an all-electric residence. The objective is to operate the home, as much as possible, as an energy-neutral dwelling on a daily basis, where locally generated renewable energy is sufficient to support the daily energy demand of the household.
